The success of the NYC-centric business led to a natural expansion when Atrium found itself advising on several investment transactions in Portugal from the acquisition of a rural vineyard, to industrial repositioning projects in Lisbon and continual single user investment transactions in between. Realizing the synergy with the Portugal market base, it was a natural expansion. Committed to Atrium's core philosophy the Lisbon and Porto office have been greeted with excitement by American based and European investors alike looking to expand and successfully place money in Portugal.
Meet Our Founder
Karen Kemp Aguiar Abud is the CEO and Founder of Atrium Real Estate (NYC & Portugal) and Atrium Global Visa. With 20+ years in real estate, she specializes in cross-border investment and relocation. After moving to Portugal and recognizing strong U.S.-Portugal synergies, she launched both firms to support expats with real estate and visa needs. A former top producer at The Corcoran Group, Karen consistently ranks in the top 1% of U.S. agents and is known for her strategic, client-focused approach.
